The Body Stress Release Consultation

A body stress release consultation is carried out in a professional setting in a private consulting room. The practitioner gives a brief explanation of how BSR works, to dispel any misconceptions or concerns about the process.

The Body Stress Release Technique
This body stress release technique is designed to help the body release stored tension. With the person fully clothed lying down, they will be lowered on a specially designed BSR couch, making it comfortable and easy for people who have difficulty climbing onto a raised surface. The practitioner carries out a series of tests to locate the exact sites of body stress. This is done by applying light pressure to various points on the body and observing the neuromuscular response. The practitioner then applies the stimuli, using their hands, by means of light, precise pressure, in specific directions which encourages the body to release stored tension.

If body stress has occurred recently, the process of releasing is usually rapid. As we find with recent accidents or falls or in children suffering from growing pains, their inability to concentrate, bed wetting and even colic in babies, as they do not have long term tension build up. However if the stress has been stored for a long time, a number of body stress release sessions are required, to get the body to release stored tension. This is because the tight , protective layers of muscles tend to relax by degrees back to their normal tone. Because Body Stress Release works with the body’s natural striving to be stress free, it is a gentle procedure that does not require force.
The Body Stress Release process
This is a 3 phase process of unlocking tension to restore self-healing:

This process obviously depends on the individuals responses and level of care the person takes in “looking after” themselves during the process. As the body adapts to the returning nerve communication, individuals will recover at different rates.
Intensive Phase

Day 1, day 4, ( possibly day 7) and day 11.
This is to address the immediate reason for attending BSR.
Rehabilitation Phase

Once every week or second week ( depending on individual case requirements)
Maintenance Phase
(Your commitment to your health)

Once every 3 weeks, or monthly or every 6 weeks.
NOTE: Body Stress Release is not a diagnosis or treatment of any condition or disease. It is concerned only with locating and releasing stored tension, so that the body is assisted with its in built ability to heal and maintain itself.

To Whom It May Concern

I met Michelle during her training and practical session at the Body Stress Release academy here in the Wilderness.

She treated me 4 times over a period of 2 weeks and despite the fact that I went into the whole procedure somewhat sceptical, I was at first pleasantly surprised, that then extremely happy with the relief I got from the chronic knee and ankle pains I have experienced for years.

I can strongly recommend BSR to anyone – and I congratulate Michelle on her grasp and understanding of the whole technique. I wish her success in this new and exciting venture for herself.

Dear Michelle,

Thank you so much for all your help during the period before and after my foot operation. I have found that BSR made a tremendous difference to my recovery and pain management before and after.

I really appreciate your commitment in helping me and would not have coped without the treatments.

“Thank you Michelle for the great BSR sessions. I have had numerous Physiotherapy sessions for my neck in the last few years with very little pain relief and for very short periods. Since my BSR sessions I have not looked back !!! The pain and never ending stiffness has gone and even the headaches have disappeared. I know maintenance sessions are essential for continued healing so I will definitely book sessions on my next visit to SA.”

“I battled with whiplash for a long time. It was not until I was introduced to Body Stress Release that I finally found relief from the tension in my neck and shoulders. The technique used in BSR is very gentle, non invasive and relaxing. I continue to have maintenance sessions with Michelle who has always been very professional and knowledgeable. Thank you Michelle for the experience of BSR and its healing process.“

“Dear Michelle,
Thank you so much for all you have done to help me with both my back problems and headaches!
My headaches are less severe now….when I get one. These used to come every 2nd week and last 4 to 5 days, now I get one only when very stressed and they only last a night and I can sleep them off with only taking 2 pain killers instead of the 8 a day I used to take!
My back has never seized again, must be from my monthly “maintenance” sessions with you!
Thank you once again for not only helping me to heal, but helping me cope with my day to day life.
Many thanks again
Your ever grateful headache free patient”

Dear Michelle
As a 26 year old, newly married young lady, I was not happy to have been diagnosed with a problem with my aesophagus, and that there was little that could be done for me… my diet had to be changed along with my lifestyle in major ways. However after my sessions of BSR, I am feeling much “lighter” and better able to cope with my digestive issues. The future does look much brighter.

Ek is 58 jaar en werk voldag by ‘n dokter se praktyk. Ek wou ‘n vinnige oplossing he. My man het my aangemoedig on terug te gaan. Ek is toe vir 5 sessies elke tweede week.
